border in the area known as The Marches, which has seen
many a conflict between the two nations in past centuries,
the countryside around Netley Hall is well blessed with
castles, strongholds and fortified houses.
Offas Dyke is

The National Trust and
English Heritage own a number of properties in and around
Shropshire Attingham Park, Dudmaston Hall, Benthall

a few, all of which are well run and make excellent
venues for interesting visits.

The Shropshire Hills
are just four miles away - if a ramble up the Long Mynd

Shrewsbury, said to
be the finest Tudor town in England, is within 10 minutes

Hill walking holidays

of the area in this way. There are many grades of walks
available and details of routes may be found in the
Tourist Information Centres such as in Shrewsbury, Ludlow
and Church Stretton.
